Pete
Linskey - Activities Director
Pete
Linskey has been involved in the teaching of outdoor pursuits
since being a Scout and showing his peers how to rock climb and
canoe. During his career in heavy industry, Pete continued teaching
in the voluntary sector until his passion for outdoor activities
led to full time dedication to Out of Town. His unrivalled knowledge
and experience of outdoor activities best practice led to his
role as consultant for the application of Hertfordshire County
Council's Duke of Edinburgh scheme for difficult social groups
and 'at risk' young people. Pete is a proponent for safety in
leisure activities and mentoring several instructors.
In
the rare moments that Pete is not working he likes to relax doing
hard rock climbs (E1) in places such as the Swiss Alps and a personal
highlight was ascending Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, a height of
almost 20,000 ft. During the busy summer season, Pete is assisted
by a team of young talented windsurfing and kayaking instructors.
