Days @ The Aquadrome
The
centre offers a safe and scenic introduction to the exhilarating
sports of windsurfing and canoeing.
Out
of Town Action Sports is a R. Y .A. Recognised Teaching Establishment,
a B.C.U. approved centre, and is licensed with the A.A.L.A. to
run courses and taster session for young people.
Out
of Town Action sports is situated within the Aquadrome, part of
the Colne Valley Park. Easily accessible from London and the surrounding
counties we are just a few minutes from J17 of the M25 and a short
walk from Rickmansworth metropolitan line station.
MULTI
- ACTIVITY DAYS
Designed
to give participants the opportunity to have a go at a variety
of outdoor activities. These could include windsurfing, canoeing,
raftbuilding, Canadian canoeing, problem solving and team games.
The day would usually start at 10.00 and finish at 15.00 hrs,
with a break for lunch.
Cost; £17.00+vat per pupil for a minimum of 10 pupils
RYA
LEVEL 1 WINDSURFING COURSES
Geared
towards the complete beginner, this course takes you from the
very basics including setting up the equipment and using a dry
land simulator, to tacking, gybing, sailing up and downwind and
elementary safety techniques. Most of the course is spent getting
wet - the duration is usually 3 sessions of 2hrs or 5sessions
of 1.5hrs
Cost; £40.00+vat per pupil minimum of 10 pupils
BCU
1* CANOEING COURSES (KAYAKING)
This
course is aimed at the novice paddler, providing them with the
basic techniques of kayaking. Includes carrying the equipment,
forwards and backwards paddling, support strokes and the all important
capsize drill. Course duration is the same as for windsurfing
courses.
Cost; £35.00+vat per pupil for a minimum of 10 pupils
Successful
completion of these courses will result in the pupil being awarded
a nationally recognized certificate, which can be used to gain
points on the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and can count towards
GCSE grades for P.E

TASTER
SESSIONS
Fully
supervised sessions where youngsters are shown the basics and
then let loose on the water! Designed for those who are unsure
of committing to a structured course, participants are encouraged
to try out the watersports on offer whilst under the watchful
eye of our qualified instructors. Usual duration is 1.5 hrs. These
sessions can be run after school if required.
Cost; £24.00 +vat per instructor (£12.00 +vat each additional
hour)
£5.00+vat per participating pupil (£1.50 +vat each additional
hour)
Out of Town Action Sports will supply all the specialist equipment
required (including wetsuits and buoyancy aids)- all the participants
need to bring is a swimming costume, towel, an old pair of trainers
and a packed lunch.
We
can cater for up to 75 youngsters at any one time. Please contact
the centre for details of visit structures and costings for large
groups.
